A team from Plymouth Argaum Social club took on Plymouth Argaum rugby club on Saturday in aid of the Help For Heroes Charity. Although the rugby club ran out comfortable winners there was some good rugby played from both sides and the social club managed a couple of tries of their own.
The Argaum side included a couple of guest from OPMs as well as a good
sprinkling of old boys including Tommy Cooper, Taff Cummings and Whisky
Walker. Paul Stinchombe of Plymouth Referees Society helped the game
flow with a sympathetic hand which ensured everyone had an enjoyable
game. Match subs of £5 per player went to the charity fund which was
also aided by a raffle. Chairman Chris Sillitoe presented the very
handsome trophy to captain Damon Pegg who had done a large amount of
organising to make the game happen. Many thanks must also go to Darren
Todd and Bill Freshwater of the social club for supporting the event.
