Josh Theo
Josh Theo was voted in as 1st XV captain for next season at last night's AGM. The Chiefs player-of-the-year fought off competition from fellow Marine Jim Twiss to secure the prestigious spot for 2009-10. In a revertion to tradition the vice-captain will be invited by Josh at a a later date. Also at the meeting coaches Howell Phillips and Mark Shepherd outlined plans for the forthcoming season and confirmed that pre-season training will commence on Tuesday 30th June.  In the majority of the other posts it's a case of as you where with Chris Sillitoe, Stuart Quarterman, Geoff Kelly and Alistair Baillie as Chairman, Vice-chairman, Secretary and Club Captain respectively. Quarterman also takes on the additional role of fixture secretary (replacing Andy Rees) whilst Junior Treasurer Neil Bond will also take up that position with the seniors (replacing Gerry Barnes). Darren Todd was also voted in to a new position to act as a liaison between the social club and the rugby club, Richard Belli and Damon Pegg retained their positions as Junior Rep and Groundsman. There was a feeling that after some difficult times the club was moving in the right direction. News on more developments from the meeting will be released over the coming weeks.
