Tuesday 30th June is the date that will launch Plymouth Argaum's ambitions for the 2009-10 season. That is when senior pre-season training re-commences under the coaching team of Howell Phillips and Mark Shepherd. Despite the club facing it's toughest fixture list for several seasons in the revamped Tribute Devon 1 West expectations are high that improvements off the field can be matched by perfomances on it.
A number of new players are joining the fold to compliment a squad that
gained confidence with decent performances in the latter half of last
season. It has also been confirmed that ex-Plymouth Albion player Dave Fuge will also be joining the management team, Josh Theo was voted in as 1st XV Captain last week. This will be followed up by a Press & Publicity campaign
based on the RFU's Play On Recruitment Initiative in a bid to entice
more players to the club. To that end second team fixtures are being
added to the fixture list.
As Vice-Chairman Stuart Quarterman said "With plenty of good new players expected, an established coaching
set-up in place and the resurgence of the 2nd XV, this season is
expected to bring much needed improvement! BE PART OF IT!".
