Welcome To Plymouth Argaum RFC

We are a friendly, family-based club located at Bickleigh Down, Roborough just north of Plymouth. We currently run a 1st XV and occasionally 2nd XV senior mens teams whilst we also have a junior section which has been running since 2003. We are probably the oldest club in Plymouth having being originally formed in 1887. In May 2008 the running of the clubhouse was taken over by Plymouth Argaum Sports & Social Club , it was completely refurbished and is now open every day of the week. This website is regularly updated with match reports and other club news, if you have any feedback or would like to contribute then please email the webmaster or use the forum. If you would like to get in touch with us to join the club as playing or social member, arrange or confirm a fixture or find out some other information then see the contacts page.

Other selected site highlights include the origins of the club and its unusual name , the Centenary History and the Argaum Archive containing content from the previous incarnations of this site.

Jock Gillan

You may have read in the forum the very sad news about Gary 'Jock' Gillan who passed away last week at the age of 44 after suffering from bowel cancer. Gary was a very popular member of the club during the 1990s who had a sharp wit and who was a more than decent player, mainly at full back. He leaves a wife Carolyn and a young son, our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

The arrangement for his funeral are as follows;
