Welcome To Plymouth Argaum RFC

wanderersvdhsobmar10.jpgWe are a friendly, family-based club located at  Bickleigh Down, Roborough just north of Plymouth. We currently run a 1st XV and occasionally 2nd XV senior mens teams whilst we also have a junior section which has been running since 2003. We are probably the oldest club in Plymouth having being originally formed in 1887. In May 2008 the running of the clubhouse was taken over by Plymouth Argaum Sports & Social Club , it was completely refurbished and is now open every day of the week. This website is regularly updated with match reports and other club news, if you have any feedback or would like to contribute then please email the webmaster or use the forum. If you would like to get in touch with us to join the club as playing or social member, arrange or confirm a fixture or find out some other information then see the contacts page.

Other selected site highlights include the origins of the club and its unusual name , the Centenary History  and the Argaum Archive containing content from the previous incarnations of this site.

Argaum Colts 2009-10
Argaum produced a fine second half fightback in this passionate and at times bruising local derby. Argaum were caught defending too narrow on a number of occasions in the first half which allowed the experienced home side to run in 4 tries one of which was converted. In reply Argaum made inroads into the opposition half but only had 2 Jake Turfrey penalties to show for their efforts. The second half was a much different affair as the visitors took the game to Oaks and caused problems for their defence. It was no more than they deserved when Jake Turfrey went over from a tap penalty to claim the touchdown. Plymstock were limited to a single second half penalty. Argaum will rue their lethargic start to the game otherwise the result of this competitive encounter would have been very much in the balance.
