Chris Sillitoe receives the Tom Hitchins Trophy from Bill Hitchins on behalf of Darren Revell
Chris Sillitoe receives the Tom Hitchins Trophy from Bill Hitchins on behalf of Darren Revell
The 2010 Argaum Dinner and Dance took place last Friday at Brickfields and was once again a great success. Although numbers were slightly down on usual there was a good cross section of current and former players, members of the junior section, guests from OPMs and the press. Councillor Bill Hitchins and his wife Sue were also honoured guests. Chairman Chris Sillitoe once again presided over affairs and perhaps was more succint with his speech this year, although there was plenty of toasts with the obligatory port on each table. Stuart Quarterman repeated the excellent table decoration and layout from last year and music was supplied by the excellent Sunset who demonstrated their wide repetoire. So to the awards......

Howell Phillips accepted Clubman Of The Year on behalf of Dave Fuge, Chris Sillitoe accepted The Tom Hitchins Trophy on behalf of Darren Revell. Ben Hosking picked up the Most Improved Player Award and Tony Hickey The Effort Award. Dave Parmenter collected the Teddy Thrower Award on behalf of Dan Sweeting. Jamie Venner received the Captains Trophy and Mark Handley the Players Player Award. Jason Chinn received the Jenny Daniels Award for his excellent work in obtaining the Awards For All Grant. In addition the proceeds of the raffle totalling £200 (whose prizes were largely sourced by Jason) was donated to the Simon Adams Motor Neurone Disease Association and were gratefully received by Martin Finlay of OPMs from Vice-Chairman Stuart Quarterman. His note of thanks is at the bottom of this article.
