This weekend our U7’s (and U8’s) travelled to Newton Abbot RFC to take part in the Bradfords 22/23 Community Cup. For most of the team this was their first taste of festival rugby, in what was a superbly organised event.

Their first game was up against Newton Abbot U8’s, in what were awful weather conditions. Despite those conditions, the team gave a good account of themselves, in what was their first exposure to 6 a side rugby, on bigger pitches, against an older team.

Thankfully the sun came out for their second game against Teignmouth U7’s. Passes were sticking better; tags were coming off easier and lots of tries were scored in a great all-round performance.

The team really did save their best for last with a game against OPM U8’s, both in attack and defence the whole team played some excellent rugby with big smiles on their faces.
