Dave Sansom was beleaguered with unavailability and injury this week as the season starts to take its toll.
Seven regular considerations for spots in the 1st team were out, but the squad filled the gaps admirably. In came James Humphrey, James Shannon and Kevin Sidebottom was recalled after a month in the Wanderers.
The weather seems to have turned and the pitches have ssurvived the season, welcoming a more expansive game.
Argaum exploded out of the blocks, scoring three tries in the opening fifteen minutes. Jake Turfrey, Luke Kenny and Jamie Venner all touching down.
Argaum's dominance in the scrum and the rucks showed, as Mason Edwards continued his rich vein of form by going over for the forth try, and good platforms were set for Turfrey and Kevin Sidebottom to put the home side 38-0 up at the break.
Despite the dominance, and now boasting the Shepherd brothers in the second row, the penalty count rose in the second half. Through this, Saltash were awarded a penalty try.
Sidebottom replied for Argaum soon after with a wonderful individual effort, beating a handful of opponents in his own 22, going on to race the length of the pitch, outstripping Ashes' full back in the process.
After another try from the visitors, replacement loose-head, Adam Fitzpatrick forced the ball over the line. The final try came from Skipper Kenny to seal the spot in the Lockie Cup Final.
The Chiefs will join the Wanderers at The Brickfields on 23rd April in an all Argaum evening. Chiefs take on the winners of Old Techs v Peninsula Medics and the Wanderers play either Plymstock II or Services 3.
