Argaum started their preparation for the new season by taking on Truro Titans at St Clements Hill.
This annual fixture has typically been a tough test that Argaum have relished over the last 3 years and this was no different.
Argaum started brightly, going in at the break 22-0 up. Tries by Jake Turfrey and Kal Bloomfield and successful kicks from Paul Ansell gave a buoyant Argaum a good lead.
Turfrey scored twice, notably one which he beat five opponents to touch down. Coach, Sansom was however left frustrated that another 2 potential touchdowns went begging after Turfrey failed to offload to Bloomfield.
The Cornish came back strongly in the 2nd period after the reinforcements arrived. Coupled with the injuries that were creeping in, the more experienced Western Counties side took control.
The game was marred by the injury to Argaum centre Ansell, who came up from a ruck with what was later diagnosed as bilateral zygoma fractures and a large cut to his cheek.
