Five trys confirm Chiefs' dominance.

Again, Coach Dave Sansom had selection issues before the long and arduous coach jorney to Ilfracombe in the opposite corner of the county.

In came Dave Rawles, Dan Sergent, James Riley, Jamie Venner and Stuart Quarterman.

The 18 men that travelled have all put up a good case for selection next week in a performance that dictated the flow of the game from start to finish.

Early pressure saw Jamie Burton put the Chiefs in the lead, only for a succession of errors that lead to the North Devon side responding with two penalties.

From the start, the Argaum scrum was immense. 40 stone of power in the second row complemented a very accomplished front row, pushing the large Ilfracombe pack off their own ball time after time.

A sniping try from skipper Luke Kenny put Argaum back in the lead before half time. after the team had settled and mistakes were sorted out.

Going uphill in the second half, the pack continued to consistently win the opposition's ball in the scrum, providing the platform for the backs to shine. Riley, slotted in seamlessly at fly-half in his first league appearance and Tom Underwood ran some great lines on the right wing.

The fast handling and great support saw Jake Turfrey touch down early in the secomd half. Surprise selection, Quarterman set up Burton for his second, taking the ball blind midway through the half.

The scrum was so dominant that Argaum were even pushing Ilfracombe back with 7 men. Two yellows for technical offences didnt make any difference and ball was still stolen.

The last try came from Mason Edwards, the host's pick for man of the match when he found space after picking up from the back of the ruck.

Overall good performance from Argaum. Again, well marshalled by Kenney and disciplined in defence. A very good test leading up to a very important game at home to North Tawton next week.
