Dartmouth recently beat city side Tamar Saracens and today showed the improvement that they have made since Argaum beat them convincingly earlier in the season in Dartmouth.
Argaum found themselves up against it early on as they went 6-0 down, courtesy of two penalties.
Much of the game was played in the Riversiders' half as gradually, the Chiefs put more and more pressure on. The game, perhaps due to the conditions was a tough physical affair with the ball rarely making it out wide.
By halftime, it was all square, with Dartmouth taking the slope in the second period.
Not long after the turnaround, Daniel James left the field injured, meaning a reshuffle in the back line. Tom Richards missed a penalty in front of the posts, for Dartmouth to sting the greens almost immediately after to retake the lead.
Prolonged pressure and one fantastic piece of loose head scrummaging from Nick Hancock saw Argaum steal against the head and three phases later, Kevin Sidebottom crashed over in the corner.
The last ten saw Argaum defend ferociously with 13 men and with the last play of the game, and Dartmouth pressing, scrum half Luke Kenny stole the ball at the ruck and without hesitation, Paul Ansell cleared the ball to touch.
