Ansell bags 25 points as Chiefs return to form.

Plympton battled bravely at St Boniface Arena and for periods of the game belied their lowly league position.

The match started in the shadow of a tragic accident on the Plymouth Road adjacent above the pitch. The mood was low on the touchline and the game seemed to take the same tone.

Argaum put early points on the board with a typically well worked try after 4 minutes. Paul Ansell the scorer and he slotted what was to be the first of ten conversions in a dead-eye performance with the boot.

Plym Vic were always competing and indeed their efforts paid off with a three pointer midway through the half.

Argaum ended the half though with a try by Tom Underwood, after a powerful run and offload by Ansell. This added to two tries by Jake Turfrey and another by Tom Richards to put the Chiefs 35-3 up.

Skipper, Luke Kenny scored a brace in the first ten minutes of the second half, then after that, the home team had a very strong 10 minutes, forcing another 3 points with the boot.

This rallied Argaum and from the return kick, the ball was turned over and some great interchanging resulted in hooked Karl Sullivan touching down under the posts.

Aaron Anderson-Smith powered over soon after and with ten to go, Turfrey completed his hat trick. The final try came after 73 minutes when Jamie Venner completed another fantastic team move.

The game ended with an injury to Argaum's Richards, when the Chiefs were pressing for that final try.

That will keep Argaum clear at the top. With every game now a cup - final, every effort should be made to get to training and keep the performance level up.
