Encouraging Performance

Argaum fielded a mixed side, with coach Gordon Howells picking from those who have trained regularly over the summer. As usual during pre-season, multiple unavailability hindered selection, but Howells was very positive about his starting XV.

Argaum shot out of the blocks, and under the rainbow, Dan Smith, propping, burst though to brake the deadlock after four minutes. Ali Murray potted the extras to give the Chiefs an early lead.

Services started to get their rhythm and the game started. Argaum seemed to be pushing a bit too hard at times in the first half and it wasn't until late after the break that the players started to relax and implement what they had been working on in pre-season.

Tom Worboys added to the scoreline with Jamie Venner scoring toward the end, Murray converting.

Howells was delighted after the game. "The lineouts were showing promise and the support play at times was immense" said the new coach. "Lots still to work on though".

The lads enjoyed the '3rd half' as the pre-season social went into the night.

Prep now starts for the double header next Saturday, with Argaum hosting both Plymouth Fiji and OPM at Bickleigh Down in the last weekend before the Season starts.
