Argaum's long search for a new Club Treasurer is answered by a VP who last held the position in the 1974-75 season.

Plymouth Argaum are delighted to announce their new Hon Treasurer Bob Holder, who takes over from Wayne Liddle. Bob is a former player and current VP who has recently been taking part in the Walking Rugby Sessions at Bickleigh Down. He will take his place on the Executive Committee alongside Stuart Quarterman and Richard Belli and become a fellow director of Plymouth Argaum RFC Ltd.

He is no stranger to the role of treasurer having held the post at Torpoint Sailing Club and also at Argaum for two seasons in the 1970s. Obviously an extremely young man at the time, he was Treasurer in 1973-74 under the Chairmanship of David Dobell and the following season under Barry Rees. Work then took Bob away from Plymouth but he has been a regular pitch side visitor in recent seasons as part of the growing VPs section.

Chairman Stu Quarterman was delighted to announce the new appointment, 'As well as being a thoroughly nice chap, Bob brings a wealth of experience to the role from his business career and voluntary positions. He is familiar with all the systems we use and is effecting a very smooth handover alongside Wayne. He is ideally placed to help us navigate through the next chapter of this great club. I'd like to pay tribute once again to outgoing Treasurer Wayne Liddle for the enormous amount of time and effort he put into the Treasurer position amongst many other voluntary roles he undertook for the club. He has stayed on in position for a long time after he first announced he was stepping down and we are extremely grateful. We know he will not be a stranger to Argaum and has a special place at the club.'

As for Bob's return, we think this must be some kind of record of the longest interval between holding the same Committee position at a rugby club!
