Club History Website Relaunched!

Club History Website Relaunched!

Richard Belli26 Nov - 10:00

Argaum's rich club history back online in time for Argaum Day at https://history.argaum.org.uk/

The aim of the site is to provide an archive for past players, their families and friends as well as a fascinating insight into the sporting and social history of the area.

Plymouth Argaum has a rich and colourful history with a superb collection of archive material collected over the years. This has been made available for a number of years but there were some issues with the platform which meant the more basic Centenary History website has been shown in its place for the last few seasons.

Just in time for the this year's Argaum Day (29th November) the site has been relaunched with a new Wordpress platform which is readily available for PC, tablet or phone. The site includes all of the information from before but some updated seasons as the Centenary History stopped in 1986-7. These updated seasons proved popular on the PAPPA Facebook page during one of the lockdowns in 2020.

The new address is https://history.argaum.org.uk/

A link to it is available from the Main Menu on this website (top of the page if your on a PC),

There is still much more archive material to be added so keep checking back and please comment on any issues encountered or information that requires updating. One of the first tasks is to add further season archives to at least get up to 2019-2020. There are also many photos, videos and press reports to be added.

The aim of the site is to provide an archive for past players, their families and friends as well as a fascinating insight into the sporting and social history of the area. We are closely linked with the club VPs as well as PAPPA (Plymouth Argaum Past Players Association).

Whilst looking back on the club history we don’t intend to remain stuck in the past and include links to the club as its run today, with senior men’s and women’s teams, a thriving junior section as well as walking rugby.
