Argaum arrived at Parkway expecting a better side than that folded under the pressure at Bickleigh Down earlier in the season. The Ernesettle side had recently recruited heavily from Cornwall/Devon side Plymouth Barbarians and were coming from a two game winning streak, which included the scalps of league leaders Old Techs.
Argaum started well and dominated the first half. Tom Richards missed 3 difficult penalties which meant that it was only 3-0 at the turnaround, but the lineout looked good and Argaum recycled the ball well. Aggressive rucking saw the Chiefs 8 Scott Galloway with stud marks across his throat and numerous other players bleeding from various places.
There were a couple real chances to score when first, Dan James' wayward pass, left the winger touching his toes. Then after a good break from hooker Mason Edwards, the decision to not release winger Ieuan Evans meant another 5 points went begging.
The tides changed in the second half after discussion about the legality of some of the rucking. Tamar Saracens came out more structured and started to slowly run the pace of the game. The boggy ground became heavier and it had become difficult for Argaum to get their rhythm back.
By the time Steve Reeves was unexpectedly shown the yellow card for repeated offences at the breakdown, the game appeared to be out of reach for the team in green.
